On arrival the receptionist changed my room from a double to a twin, which was just great as at short notice I had to bring my 11 year old son with me. Brilliant, nothing was too much trouble.
Well, I'm sorry to say my stay was marred somewhat by the failure of the reception staff to carry out my requested early morning call. My son and I missed breakfast as a result, which we had paid for. Now, we all make mistakes, I myself work in the service industry, and the receptionists apology was sincere...I've had that training too..What really annoyed me was that on telling her my son and I had missed breakfast...there was no gesture to compensate, nothing. Personally, had that been one of my customers I would have backed up the apology with a luncheon voucher, or at least something! Sorry, it just left a sour taste in my mouth. I had to buy and alarm clock for the remainder of my stay.
i thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel, although i would say that the attention to detail in the single room was not quite as high as in a double as my friends have stayed before.
as i said, i think there could have been a bit more attention payed to the room. for instance, the toiletries weren't arran aromatics, which i think is normally a very nice feature, and the heating wasn't on.
Service was excellent. All staff very welcolming . A special mention to Emma who served our breakfast - A credit to the hotel.
The staff were all very accommodating, the room was comfortable and the leisure facilities were welcome. The location is very good and convenient.
The signposting, or rather lack of it, meant it took a little longer to arrive and enjoy the facilities. The breakfast service was a little chaotic, slow and unclear despite friendly staff.
Convenient to Airport and place of B
The location of the hotel was fantastic and the staff were really friendly.
well maintained with some original features, good value for the money, staff very helpful and efficient superb location
Its location was reasonably convenient, there was car parking available, and the all-day snack facilities were useful.
There was a distinct lack of rapport with quite a number of the staff (exceptions being the Concierge, Walter and one of the waitresses in the restaurant, Emma). There was no sign of senior management on-site. We complained to Reception that the extractor fan in the bathroom (Rm 29) was not working, where the one in Rm 27 never shut off. Also the taps over the washbasin in Rm 29 were loose, and a number of floor tiles were cracked in both of the bathrooms. On two days the tea and sugar supplies were not replenished (Rm 29), and the bottled water was not replenished in Rm 27. There was no safe in Rm 29 - we had to rely on our friends in Rm 27.
At check in were were offered to upgrade our Standard Double Room to a Deluxe Room for only 20 pounds and we were so glad that we did. We had fabulous views of the golf course and the sea. The proximity to the golf course couldn't have been better.
There was no provision for a continental breakfast option and everyone is charged for the full breakfast. I had coffee and was charged 14.95 pounds and my husband had fruit, a pastry and tea and was charged 14.95 pounds. Service in the bar area for lunch left a lot to be desired. We ordered a soup and a sandwich and had to wait more than a half hour before being served.
The staff in the bar area were very helpful and friendly.
The reception staff, restaurant staff at breakfast and duty manager were, it has to be said of an appalling quality with regards to customer service.
Location. Very friendly staff. Good atmosphere.
Room a bit small with attic like sloping walls. TV a bit difficult to operate. Breakfast badly organised: Hot food arriving before the guest has finished the first course. Breakfast Buffet good but not five star. Service in bar poor: I had to order the drinks from the bar as no service came to the table. When ordering a glass of wine, ti is customary to offer a few different types of wine. Food int he restaurant good, but not five star in my opinion. Would recommend but not wholeheartedly. Sorry!
i liked the pool and the room was very clean, staff were very friendly and helpful.
there was only one changing cubicle in the leisure area for women to change.
Extremely friendly staff and the quality of the food. The location is also superb.
Room was very small and not very well thought out. No drawer space at all which was very inconvenient.
location overlooking the sea, great for walking along the beachfront into Troon. Quiet spot at end of town. Breakfast in the dining room overlooking the sea as the sun rises overlooking the isle of Arran is breathtaking. Leisure facilities were good,
The dining staff at breakfast were very poor, chatting to each other and not attending to the guests, Poor at dealing with complaints, discourteous at times. The reception staff were excellent and one of the barmen was excellent, with nothing too much trouble, but was in the minority. Food was expensive so ate at several restaurants in the town. Scotts was excellent and so was the Indian.
location overlooking golf course & sea, friendly staff
