Position of hotel, very pleasant chanbermaid, value OK for special offer price
Prices very high for quality but good for special offer. Hotel missed out on 'niceties', poor administration, milk jug empty one morning at breakfast, salt cellar on another morning, room door opened (without knocking) at 7.30 am on first morning.
I liked the politness of the staff, being able to drive into towns close by and of course being close to the beach is always nice
the fact they treated my wife and myself like we would have been the most important guest's staying
loud american on mobile at breakfast two mornings on the trot
We were sailing on the morning ferry from Troon to Larne and decided to stay in the Marine Hotel rather than leave home early the next morning. We were glad we did as the atmosphere was relaxing and so near the ferry we were able to enjoy a lovely breakfast before setting off.
The bar was very expensive.
Great location. Classic building refurbed in classy modern way. Good staff, great value
Spa area was nice and relaxing, hotel had been refurbished since last visit, in ideal location, beautiful views.
Would have preferred buffet style breakfast.
The staff were helpful and friendly and the atmosphere in the hotel relaxing. The food was delicious. The deal was excellent value for money.
The staff were friendly on arrival, and throughout. Hotel was clean and tidy. Breakfast quite good.
Access to our room in what seemed to be a new annex was a bit long and awkward, up and down short flights of stairs several times. Bed was uncomfortable. Price of bar snacks were quite expensive.
pool, spa, breakfast, situated by the beach.
Great Service, comfortable & clean room, beautiful location. Close to ferry, shops & countryside.
Poor choices in the restaurant for a hotel of this standing. There were no mini bars in the bedroom.
Location; Lounge Area; Dining Experience; Friendly Staff; Atmosphere;
Standard Room in Attic was dull and claustrophobic; I thought the hotel had been totally re-furbished some years ago ( stated) They must have forgotten 320 & 322!!!
the seaside location; the leisure suite; the friendliness of the staff
room small, shabby and unclean. food only average service friendly but inadequate e.g. first 2 choices not available and no Guinness in the bar; young waitress did not know what an aperitif was and she and the bar staff had never heard of a kir royale and tried unsuccessfully to make it and yet tried to charge us for it; problem with credit card machine and the internet was not working
Nice leisure facilities. Good breakfast once you go down for it. Don't get it delivered to the room, sits there for a long time and comes up quite dry. Rooms are nice.
Did not like the fire alarm at 2am which was not a fire and did not get given an explanation. Internet connection was absolutely terrible. Terrible. Demanded a refund (15 pounds for 24 hours!!). Hotel also attracts a serious amount of quite older people, so if you're under 40 you're going to feel very singled out.
Enjoyed the view from the dining room and food was excellent. Room, furnishings and bed excellent. Staff helpful and welcoming. In fact it was far superior to the room we had at the Sheraton in Edinburgh, which cost us more than double,no breakfast and £8 to park the car in their car park overnight!
